The secret of next generation PoE – Transport 100W power in single cable


Hi there! This is Joe.This video we are going to talk about the next generation PoE technology—— IEEE 802.3bt standard In this new standard, it allows us to use single internet cable to send 95 watts to a remote IP device safely, yes, you heard me say safely sending so high power or
single internet cable . Safety is the first concern. it’s going to benefit high
power demand devices, such as, LEDs, post machine, PC computer and display. Firstly,
let’s understand how it work. this is the typical internet cable, Cat 5e. There’s totally 4-pair APIs crispier. So in the last PoE standard,only 2 pair cables are used to send the power in this new IEEE standard all
the 4 pair are taking to send the power that’s the reason why single Ethernet
cable can transmit 94 Watt okay, now the second concern, how to send
power safely. In the IEEE 802.3 specification, there are two steps perceive before the PSE sends the power
to a power device. The first step is the verification the PSE the power source
equipment will send a small currency to the remote IP device and checking the
feedback to verify whether the remote IP device also comply with the IEEE 802.3 specification or not. if it pass the verification. Next, we will go
to the step two. The step two is the classification. and just color classifies
how much power the remote IP device can accept. so for example if the injector
already classified the splitter can receive the IEEE bt standard, the maximum
power the injector can release is 95 Watt. So that is the way to make
sure the power safely transmit on the single Ethernet cable
now we are going to demonstrate how to using this 95 watts
PoE injector and splitter to send the power or single Ethernet cable. Both devices are
complied with IEEE standard. and here this is the typical IP video camera
system both the monitor and the Machine are taking the power from the AC outlet.
so later, we are going to remove all these AC power outlets and send the power from the
router. it’s just the control room. Okay first let’s just remove the AC power outlets now we are going to disconnect our data and also the AC outlet off the machine.Next we will add the PoE injector to the main router. So you can add the power to the Ethernet cable. There are two ports, one for the PoE and the other for data. In the opposite side, we have the port for
the AC code. so first we connect the AC code to the injector. Now you see the
injector Is getting the power then we disconnect the main cable from the main
routor and we’ll link to the PoE out. Now the power is sending to the
cable. Next we’ll use a small punch code and connect to the data to our
main router, so both the data and power are compiled together and sending over one single Ethernet cable. The final step, we are going to use this splitter to
the separate both power of the Machine and the monitor. All right here we have to
ports. One for the LAN, the other for the PoE We’ll connect the PoE port to the incoming cable
and on the other side of there’s multiple DC output we can connect one to the machine
and the other for the monitor. All right now first let’s connect the power with the
machine and next we’ll connect the monitor to the DC terminal. Also we need to connect the LAN to our machine for data. so
this is the cable come with the power and data. Then will connect to the PoE. first we plug in URL will take few
seconds for the system to negotiate. So it makes sure the PoE device is
legal to support IEEE before it releases the full power all right now
We see that both the machine and the monitor are taking the power for this splitter,
