I’m absolutely delighted as the Chief
Executive of this Airport to welcome you to this opening ceremony which marks a
very very significant point in our history of London Luton Airport. This is fantastic, it’s a
transformation. This is the first Airport I flew to as a child and I’ve been here many, many times over the years. It’s a complete
transformation. You walk in and think this is a smart new modern Airport that
wasn’t like that in the past, it really is now and that’s great for Luton, it’s
great for the country. It’s a huge moment because not only have we got to the end of what’s been an incredibly difficult and probably one of the most difficult
terminal redevelopments in the UK, probably ever undertaken,
but we’ve also managed to stop the building works for our passengers.
They’ve they’ve been to an awful lot with us and we thank them for their forbearance, now we can say there are no more builders on site at the terminal building and they can enjoy what we’ve done.
