How To Light a Pilot in a Gas Fireplace

How To Light a Pilot in a Gas Fireplace

Hey guys this is Scott with House in progress. Today we’ve got another quick tip for you,
we’re going to be showing you how to light a gas pilot in a gas fireplace. Really easy process, just a one out of five
on our difficulty scale and no tools required, so let’s get started. Alright, so our first step here is just going
to be gaining access to the bottom of the fireplace, we need to remove the grate. Generally just pull away from the top of it
and it should fold down. Then we’re going to turn our main gas to the
ON position and we’re going to be turning our pilot to the PILOT mode. Then we’re going to be pushing in on our pilot,
and then just spark the ignitor until you see the flame light up inside the
actual fireplace itself. Keep holding down that pilot the entire time,
we’re going to need to hold that down for several seconds so that the pilot sensor gets
warm enough so that it keeps the gas flowing. Once we turn this to the ON position, the
flame should stay lit and if it does we’re good to go. So as you can see, really simple process. Hopefully you guys found that video useful,
we’ll see you in the next one. Thanks for watching. As you can see, really easy process. Flick the light place, the light place? We’re going to flick the light place on! [ Laughter ] I’ll just leave the light on, that’s too much coordination. [ Laughter ]
