Boeing CEO: The 737 MAX is a very safe airplane

COMING UP FIRST TOP STORY THIS HALF AN HOUR NEW QUEASY FOR BOEING, THE “THE WALL STREET JOURNAL” IS REPORTING THAT BOEING WITHHELD ON MODEL THE SAME MODEL INVOLVED IN THE DEADLY LION AIRCRASH IN INDONESIA LAST MONTH TO DISCUSS THAT A LOT MORE IN FOX BUSINESS EXCLUSIVE IS CHAIRMAN PRESIDENT AND CEO OF BOEING DENNIS MUILENBURG GOOD TO SEE YOU –>>GOOD TO SEE YOU NOW THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR JOINING US STORY IN THE JOURNAL OBVIOUSLY VERY CONCERNING WHEN A CAN YOU TELL US IN TERMS OF WHAT WAS TOLD TO THE PILOTS AND AIRLINES ABOUT ANY NEW EQUIPMENT IN THAT 737.>>MARIA FIRST OF ALL, I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE ALL EXPRESS OUR SYMPATHIES FOR THE LOSS OF LION AIR FLIGHT 610 OR THOUGHTS GO WITH FAMILIES THAT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED, WE HAVE BEEN VERY ENGAGED WITH THE INVESTIGATIVE AUTHORITIES THROUGHOUT PROVIDING ALL INFORMATION, NECESSARY, TO MAKE SURE WE DO A FULL ASSESSMENT OF THE SITUATION. AND THE BOTTOM LINE HERE IS THE 737 MAX IS SAFE, THE SAFETY IS CORE VALUE FOR US AT BOEING ALWAYS HAS BEEN WE ENSURE THAT AIRPLANES ARE SAFE, IN FACT, THIS AIRPLANE WENT THROUGH THOUSANDS OF AURZ OF TESTS EVALUATION CERTIFICATION, WORKING WITH PILOTS AND WE HAVE BEEN VERY TRANSPARENT ON PROVIDING INFORMATION AND BEING FULLY COOPERATIVE ON ACTIVITY.>>APPARENTLY 10 COMPUTERS ABOUT THE ANGLE OF THE NOSE, WERE NOT ACCURATE AND THE PLANE WENT DOWN 189 PEOPLE DEAD DO YOU HAVE A SENSE OF WHAT WENT WRONG?>>YEAH, THE INDONESIAN AUTHORITIES POINTED OUT INITIALLY SOME INDICATIONS OF INACCURATE ANGLE ATTACK SIGNAL BEING SENT TO THE AIRPLANE, HAVING AIRPLANE HAS THE ABILITY TO HANDLE THAT WE HAVE PROCEDURES IN PLACE, AND WE HAVE ALREADY ISSUES A COUPLE ADDITIONAL BUT WILL TIPS TO OPERATORS PILOTINGS AROUND THE WORLD THAT POINT THEM BACK TO EXISTING FLIGHT PROCEDURES TO HANDLE THAT KIND OF CONDITION. SO AGAIN, WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO SPO ARE THE INVESTIGATION, AS IT PROCEEDS.>>ONE OF THE BOEING OFFICIALS QUOTED IN THE JOURNAL TODAY ONE HIGH RANKING OFFICIAL SAID COMPANY CITIED AGAINST CLOSING MORE DETAILS TO COCKPIT CRUISE DUE TO CONCERNS ABOUT INUNDATING AVERAGE PILOTS WITH TOO MUCH INFORMATION WAS THAT A DECISION NOW THAT YOU REGRET?>>NO AGAIN WE ENSURE WE PROVIDE ALL INFORMATION NEEDED TO SAFELY FLY OUR AIRPLANES AGAIN THIS COMES AS OUT OF THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF TESTING EVALUATING SIMULATING, PROVIDING THE INFORMATION THAT OUR PILOTS NEED TO OPERATE OUR AIRPLANES SAFELY. WE WILL CONTINUE TO DO THAT, AS I SAID, AS PART OF THE PROCESS HERE WE HAVE ALREADY ISSUING A COUPLE BUT WILL TINZ TO POLITES OPERATORS POINT THEM TO EXISTING FLIGHT PROURS TO HANDLE THIS KIND OF A SITUATION WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO COOPERATE IN THE INVESTIGATION I THINK REALLY IMPORTANT AGAIN, THE BOTTOM LINE HERE 737 MAX VERY SAFE PLANE WE ARE –>>BUT WAS THERE A NEW SYSTEM THAT WASN’T DISCLOSED TO THE PILOT.>>THERE ARE NEW SYSTEMS ON AIRPLANES THAT ARE DESIGNED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE CAPABILITIES OF THE AIRPLANE AND PROVIDE CONTROL ABOUT CAPABILITY HIGH ANGLE OF ATTACK CONDITIONS. AND THOSE SYSTEMS OPERATE HE PROPERLY AGAIN, IN CERTAIN FAILURE MODES IF INACCURATE ANGLE OF ATTACK SENSESOR FEEDINGS INFORMATION TO THE AIRPLANE THERE IS A PROCEDURE TO HANDLE THAT SO AGAIN, AS PART OF THE INVESTIGATION, PROCESS, WE ARE GOING TO MAKE SURE WE FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT, WE ARE GOING TO MAKE SURE PROVIDING ALL THE INFORMATION NECESSARY, AND APPROPRIATE TRAINING, AND GO BACK TO CORE VAL AIRPLANE IS SAFE WE KNOW HOW TO FLY IT SAFELY.>>WAS THAT INFORMATION IN TERMS OF WHAT HAVE TO DO SHOULD SOMETHING CHANGE WAS THAT INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO THE PILOTS? DID THEY KNOW HOW TO OPERATE SHOULD IT NOSE BE IN A DIFFERENT POSITION.>>THAT IS PART OF THE TRAINING MANUEL EXISTING PROCEDURE SO THE BULLETIN WE PUT OUT AGAIN LAST WEEK OVER THE WEEKEND, POINTED TO THAT EXISTING FLIGHT PRIOR.>>OBVIOUSLY I KNOW YOUR ANSWERING LOTS OF QUESTIONS THIS MORNING, AND THIS WEEK, AFTER THIS HORRIFIC CRASH AND YOU ARE GOING TO GET MORE INFORMATION WHAT WOULD BE TIMING ON THAT WHEN DO YOU EXAMINE TO HEAR FROM FAA ON THIS.>>THIS IS ONGOING INVESTIGATION WILL TAKE WHATEVER TIME IS NECESSARY TO MAKE SURE IT IS DONE HE O THOROUGHLY WE PARTICIPATE FULLY IN INVESTIGATIONS PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, WE WILL CONTINUE TO DO THAT UNTIL THE WORK IS COMPLETE, VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE DO THIS IN A DILIGENT THOROUGH MANNER,

  1. “737 is safe and we cooperating, it is safe but it crashed, it is safe. We are confident” can you give us a brake? Having certificates doesn’t mean it is certified by God.

Shouldn’t these stupid companies at least eliminate such codes to run while take off or landing or both? Let humans do the job at least on takeoff and why shouldn’t it allow the pilot to override the system? Next time I am flying, I need to check if it’s a MAX. They will do nothing until the 3rd one hits the ground. Basically they will do something by blaming the pilots for not following the advice they gave. It’s a mess to recall all the planes they already sold I believe.

  2. Really Ethiopian airlines crash you explain it to me asshole time you white motherfuckers pay for those lost lives..

  3. Boeing is short changing schedule in favour of quality. PERIOD! They have 5,000 to deliver. Just look at some of the video on this subject where exployees complain that the quality of the Dreamliner for example has serious flaws in it. I bet the Max is also part of that conspiracy! In accurate angle of attack sensor? WTF? Where should there be such problem in the first place, the fucken plane was new.

  4. When Boeing Chairman, President and CEO try to safe Boeing Company.
737max is not safe. But, you try to safe boeing.

  5. how can a 737 max 8 fakery be safe when your trash software behaves like the boss of human captains ??
what`s you answer to the latest FATAL CRASH of your rubbish software killed up to this point more
    than 300 people ?????

  6. Yet Mr CEO you failed to mention the FAA notice that informed all airlines that the MCAS system on the 737- Max needed Testing/ Replacement of faulty sensors that could cause incorrect feedback to the elevator causing dangerous nose down attitude situations !

  7. In my opinion most planes are safe if companies take enough measures to update the safety concern, software update and routine check-up on engine performance and glitches that appears to be invisible or unclear to most of us this can be resolved once all measures are taking seriously. The planes have been flown for many years therefore the concern is how much time spent to fix certain issues.

  8. I don't know if I should call the one that just happened a pilot error. Because from what I saw and analysed, it seemed to me that the pilot wasn't an expert or if I should say wasn't a professional. Because there's this footage I watched where the pilot took The wrong direction at the runway track and later make a u-turn, and then I also believe that he took off form the ground when it wasn't yet time and then lost navigating with the satellite. It's only a mere thought but din't say that was all that cost the accident. Though is now clear that the 737 Boeing need to watch out for.

  9. If the “737 is safe” two of them should not have crashed under the same conditions. Just fix your defective airplane!

  10. This is to show Americans protecting their own economy by hiding their faults, and use dirty tactics to false accused at company like Huawei or china to cripple them without even hard eveidence. Shame on you America.

  11. Expecting pilots to be computer systems analysts as well is risky due to overload of functions. Maybe have dedicated computer systems analyst in cockpit n have pilots focus on aerodynamics n mechanics

  12. I've often wonder how Boeing managed to call all the models 737's, that's the B200, B300, B400, B500, B600, B700, B800, B900, B700 MAX, B800 MAX, B900 MAX. There's almost no similarity between a B200 and a Next Gen or a Max. I guess it's to save money on type certification!

  13. None of the 737 models that are still flying today (737-200, 737-400 and 737-NG) prior to the MAX 8 are grounded! They are different from the newer MAX 8! So, stop scaring people that don't know, by saying that the "737" is not safe! Be more specific. Airbus fan boys care not about the lives lost, only care about smearing! Lets PRAY karma does not come in to play!

  14. Just to follow up my comment 3 months ago, sure enough Boeing is going to be gone. What happened in Indonesia was not enough for everyone to take action due to "credibility" of Indonesian Authority. They needed to wait for 300 innocent passengers to die in order for the higher authorities to take actions. What a shame human being!

  15. Dennis Muilenburg, Do you still believe the plane 737 MAX 8 is safe to fly? Do you really live in this planet or different planet? (189+157) persones lost their life because you believe 737 max 8 is safe to fly.  you must step down Dennis because you are  unqualified to be the CEO of Boeing.

  16. He is not answering the questions in a straighforward manner and obfuscating the issue..so the Boeing Max is a very safe aircraft even after two crashes in 5 months according to him…what a joke!!!

  17. Hey dude…. After Lion and last Ethiopian Airlines casualty with similar problem, I agree if this aircraft have a nicknames such 737 FC ( Flying Coffin) or 737 ( Flying Bomb)…. How you can say your product are safest if totaly brand new and expert pilot more than 5000 hour flight still have similar problem?

  18. Anyone on Boeing that still says its safe should walk the talk and go on a 24 hour flight on autopilot in those plane models!!!

  19. Boeing has lost a lot of public trust due to this issue, after the first incident Boeing assured everyone everything was ok saying there were no safety issues with the 737 max, even after the second incident they still said the arcraft was safe, it was only after a massive public outcry and many airlines/countries grounded the plane they decided to act, now they say they are working hard to correct the problem, can we trust them after the way they have acted to get it right?

  20. “ Back to existing flight conditions” what the heck is this guy talking about?
Sounds like manipulation to me and I’ve been a pilot since the 60s

  21. Boeing-nothing wrong with our planes.why were you developing a fix for the MCAS system after the first 737 max crashed then.then lay off nearly 1000 quality inspectors.Boeing 787 personnel building it wont fly on it.USAF wont accept any more KC tankers due to quality issues.I wouldn't have a Boeing plane if you gave it to me.IF IT'S A BOEING,I'M NOT GOING.!

  22. Two new Boeing 737 Max aircraft crash in similar circumstances within 12 months and approximately 400 people dead.

  23. These automations don't work on big trucks. Why use similar technologies on airplanes? Automation has its limits and can never fully replace the pilots.

  24. A software program during takeoff that keeps pilots alert and ready to conterct a runaway stabilizer is just exactly the type of thing that makes commercial flight so exciting!

  25. The bottom line is – the 737MAX is a overmaxed design of a basically 1960ies airframe. The airframe is not meant to be the basis for a plane of the 2020ies. Trying to do it resulted in all kinds of compromises that resulted in an inferior design that will never reach the safety record of the 737NG and A320/A320NEO.

  26. Boeing testing their aircrafts as required by FAA and the government.Safety of the public and the world should check more details about the cockpit details from software and training of new pilots.?????

  27. The answer is to keep salespeople and their calendar promises to customers far away from the airplane until after testing engineers have done their job. Now you have lost a great airplane and great computer augmentation system.

  28. Please don't put profit ahead of human life, if it's safe both of these planes would not have fallen off the sky.

  29. Oxymoronic Boeing. Safe airplane that crashes and blames he pilots. Massive engineering failure. Hal exists in Boieng

  30. This is the same person who is saying 737 is safe and forced to ground the same aircraft and it will stay ground till July. Why do you say you are transparent. What a lie. You should resign at the spot.

  31. Message to Mr. CEO:

You are wrong. Unfortunately Software update is not going to solve the problem.

    Truth as follows:

Physical construction of Boeing 737 Max is wrong. Engine is more powerful but size of engine is bigger than the regular 737's engine. Engine is installed under the wing a little forward and up so that to keep enough distance between engine and ground . This installation in flight, makes tendency of turbulence over the wing which result in stalling the aircraft which means in other words nose up. As Boeing you knew that this will happen during the flight. So you installed MCAS system on the aircraft. MCAS system makes the nose down in case of nose goes up. Bu it doesn't work properly and puts the aircraft diving and then crushing.

There is construction fault on the Aircraft. This construction fault can not be corrected by MCAS system's software modification. So this aircraft cannot be considered as a safe aircraft even if after software modification.

Because structural fault is going to continue to stay there. You are adding a new system (MCAS) on board which means that you are adding a risk on board. What will happen if MCAS fails at flight?!!!

In order to solve the problem structural changes must be done on the aircraft. Regular version of 737 has no MCAS system. Because physical construction is correct. But fuel consumption is a little higher than 737 MAX.

737 MAX has new engine with good fuel efficiency but comes with safety issue. In aviation safety is an paramount.

So it can be end of 737 MAX.

  32. Firmware update,fk00f gimp,do you nazis expect us all to be as dumb as ye fake mates, fktard,
All nazis are LIARS,PRAY TRUMP FIXES YE COVERT EVER SO SLY BOZOS FOR GOOD(sick fks)

  33. This guy needs to be fired immediately to save the reputation of Boeing. He is the biggest liar who lies shamelessly even after 400 people died on these planes.

  34. Within less than six months apart, their Boeing 737 Max planes have been involved in two deadly crashes abroad killing approximately 400 people, and the Boeing executive says that type of plane is safe. What are they are the Boeing executives trying to accomplish with that statement? Does this man think that people around the world are stupid enough to accept his claim that the plane is safe?

  35. Boeing CEO "profits are the core of our busi…cough cough er I we erm safety! yes yes safety I mean safety is the core of our business my frat buddy and business partner at the FAA will be helping the investigation to make sure the prof.. erm safety is enhanced"

  36. That’s the best answer the CEO can give??? Yeah, not flying on a Boeing again. Especially not after TWO crashes. Airbus is the way to go.

  37. I am seeing this april 3rd. with everything that has transpired up to today, and while watching this interview, all I think is that this situation must lead to some people being judged and sent to jail. I fly a lot and I cant process the idea that these liars irresponsibles put in danger my life and the well being of those who depend on me.

  38. If you want to know why this happened watch the coverage of the 737Max scandal. If you watch on Fox, CNN, NSBC etc, they almost always talk about the effect on the Boeing share price. Meanwhile there is no coverage of the people who died,

  39. Save!? Tell that to the 300+ people families and here sound like a $ale man ki$$ing to boeing. Planes are far to automated that are overruling the pilots.

  40. And this guy Muilenburg still has his 3 jobs of Chairman, President, CEO of Boeing which is incredibly ridiculous because who vetos his incompetent and obviously impaired judgement?

  41. Profit over SAFETY. Shame on you Dennis Muilenburg. You have no integrity and credibility. You should be in JAIL. You knew the problem since 2017. SHAME ON YOU boeing

  42. Just hearing this guy say over and over again that the max is safe fills me with confidence, where can I get a ticket for the next 737max roller coaster ride to oblivion?
